Climb the Lion Rock and step into 2,000-year-old cave temples — all in a single, comfortable day out from your hotel.
Set off early for Sigiriya, Sri Lanka's iconic 5th-century rock fortress, where you'll climb past ancient frescoes and lion's-paw gates to a summit with sweeping views over the surrounding jungle. From there, we head to the Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site holding some of the island's finest Buddhist murals and statues carved straight into the rock.
