The day continues to the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, with its avenue of palms and centuries-old giant trees, and a stop at a local spice garden to see how Sri Lanka's cinnamon, cardamom and pepper are grown and processed. A viewpoint stop over the city rounds things off before your driver takes you back to your hotel.
